Shalini Singh, a deputy editor with The Hindu has bagged the prestigious Prem Bhatia Award for political reporting - 2013. → Jaideep Hardikar, a special correspondent with the Telegraph, bagged the Prem Bhatia Award for excellence in environmental reporting.

 Paul Hewson, popularly known as Bono, the frontman of the rock band U2 as well as the anti-poverty activist was awarded the Commander of the Order of the Arts and Letters, the Highest cultural award of France on 17th July 2013 for his contribution to music.
