JULY - 01
 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Anti - gay measures into Law.

 London will host the 9th World Islamic Economic Forum in October.
→ The first time that the event will be held outside a Muslim country as the British capital looks to become a global hub for Sharia finance.

 China’s former Railway Minister Liu Zhijun was given a suspended death sen­tence on Monday by a court here for corruption and abuse of power.
 On July 8th India and Albania signed an agreement for Avoidance of Double Tax­ation and prevention of fiscal evasion with effects to taxes on income and capital.
→ The agreement signed by Ms. Sudha Sharma chairperson of CBDT - Central Board of Direct Taxes and Mr. Fatos Karciku, Ambassador Republic of Albania.
 On July 8th India and Iraq signed an agreement to enhance co - operation in energy security, bilateral trade of commerce, infrastructure development among others.
→ The agreement was signed between the union petroleum minister Veerappa Moily and his counter part from Iraq. Abdul Karim Luaibi at the end of the India - Iraq Joint Commission on technical co - operation in Baghdad.
 On 8th July India, Sri Lanka and Maldives have entered into a tripartite agree­ment on maritime co - operation to secure sea routes in the Indian Ocean region at the end of the meeting on trilateral co - operation on maritime security.
JULY - 09
 The Bank International Indonesia (BII) launched its operations in India by opening a branch in Mumbai.
 UN Secretary - General Ban ki - moon announced the appointment of Abdoulaye Bathily of Senegal his new deputy special representative for the United Nations multi dimensional integrated stabilization mission in Mali (MINUSMA).
 On 9th July European Union (EU) States approved the adoption of the Euro by Latvia as of 1st January 2014.
→ The country will be the 18th member of the European monetary union.
 India and Tanzania have signed an agreement on bilateral co - operation in sever­al sectors including agriculture, health and education, mines and minerals.
