 Chris Martin, the fast bowler of New Zealand has announced his retirement on 3rd July 2013 from all forms of Cricket.

 Srilankan umpires Sagara Gallage and Maurice de la Zilwa, who were caught in a TV string operation willing to fix cricket matches for money, have been suspended for 10 and 3 years respectively.

 Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Hemant Soren sworn-in as ninth Chief Minis­ter of Jharkhand in the premises of the Rajbavan.

 Bhim Sain Bassi will take over as the New Police Commissioner of Delhi on 1st August.
→ He will take over from Neeraj Kumar, who will retire on 31st July.
 Santhosh B. Nayar has been appointed AS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Industrial Financial Corporation of India.
→ He succeded Anurag Jain.

 Justice P. Sathasivam has been sworn in as the 40th Chief Justice of India (CJI) by President Pranab Mukherjee replacing Justice Altamas Kabir.
 US President Barack Obama has nominated an Indian - American Nisha Desai Biswal for the key post of Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia.
→ She will replace incumbent Robert Blake.
JULY - 20
 Sports ministry has recommended Hockey legend Major Dyanchand's name for India's highest civilian honour, the Bharatha Ratna.
JULY - 21
 Crown Prince Philippe has been sworn in as the New Belgian King after the emotional abdication of his father Albert - II.
